Natural Home Remedies For Cracked Heels

Cracked heels reduce the overall appearance and make you feel uncomfortable. At times if the cracks are severe on the heels, they can cause itching and pain which makes it tough to walk even. Dry and cold weather conditions, standing for a long time, unhealthy diet and lifestyle habits, fine dust on the floor usually cause cracked heels.

There are some natural remedies for cracked heels which bring you back those beautiful heels.

The first step before following the remedies is to remove the dead hard skin. Soak your feet in lukewarm water by adding some mild soap (and some Epsom salt) in it for 10 minutes.  With a help of pumice stone or callus remover exfoliate the dead skin on the heels.

Coconut Oil or Olive Oil:

 

Take some coconut oil or olive oil and massage them on your heels after exfoliating the dead hard skin. Put on some soft socks and leave it. Follow this until the cracks are gone. Exfoliation should be done once a week. On a daily basis, wash the feet and dry them before applying oil.

Rosewater And Glycerin:

Glycerin makes the skin soft, rose water has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Take equal amounts of Glycerin and Rosewater and apply it on the cracked heels. Clean the feet and pat them dry before applying the mixture. Doing this regularly reduces the cracks on the heels.

A Paste Of Neem Leaves and Turmeric:

If the cracks are severe on the heels which cause itching and inflammation, then a paste made from neem leaves and turmeric is the best remedy. Neem leaves and turmeric have antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties. Take some neem leaves, grind them and add some turmeric and apply this on the cracked heels. Leave it for 30 mins and wash the feet with warm water.

Rice Flour Paste:

Rice Flour, Apple Cider Vinegar, Olive Oil, Honey

 

If the cracks are severe, then an exfoliating scrub can be used to remove the dead skin on the heels. Take a small cup of rice flour, 2 two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, 2 teaspoons of honey and some coconut oil or olive oil and mix them. Soak your feet in warm water for 10 minutes and massage the cracked heels and feet with the rice flour paste to exfoliate the dead skin. Doing this regularly will reduce the cracks on the heels.
