When it comes to blending traditional wear with some classy-ness, Anita Dongre is one of the best designers we have. At Lakme Fashion Week 2015, that’s just what she did – used Benarasi traditional weaves, added some mirror work to them and then a touch of class and elegance. And the collection was extremely beautiful and simple – to say the least!
Flowy kurtis/dresses with some mirro work to add that little bit of ethnicity to them were the best of Anita Dongre’s collection.
Long dresses with mirror work on them which exuded class and prettiness were also among some of the collection that stole the show.
Who knew that suiting up was possible with desi weaves. Anita Dongre seems to have found a way for just that. Long and short overcoats that made for great work-wear spell ‘power-woman’ all the way!
Palazzos and crop tops were but of course a part of Anita Dongre’s collection as well. Gorgoeus flowy palazzos made out of rich Benarasi fabric were graceful.
Dia Mirza in a long black dress with mirror work on it was the show stopper and she made for one of the most beautiful show stoppers that Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2015 saw.
What made Anita Dongre’s the best there was, was that she did not forget her weavers. Some of the most talented crafts-woman that Benaras had were also among the showstoppers – and not surprisingly, they got a standing ovation from the crowd!
