Janani Bandla Looks Regal in a Deep Purple Kanchipuram Silk Saree at Her Wedding
Janani Bandla, daughter of producer Bandla Ganesh, wore a deep purple Kanchipuram silk saree with gold temple jewellery for her wedding to Surya Teja on 19 August 2026.
The saree and blouse
The saree is a rich deep purple Kanchipuram silk with a gold zari border and woven gold motifs. It is draped in a classic style and held with a gold waist belt, which keeps the pleats neat and defines her waist.
The matching purple and gold blouse has elbow-length sleeves with gold borders. It sits well with the zari border and the pallu, so the whole look feels rich but not heavy. Purple and gold is a lovely choice for a South Indian bridal look.
Jewellery
She chose gold temple jewellery: a necklace with a heavy long haram, a maang tikka, jhumkas and a nose ring. The gold waist belt completes the set. The long haram falls over the pallu and adds a traditional touch.
Hair and makeup
Her hair is neatly pulled back with a centre parting, which shows off the maang tikka and jhumkas. The makeup looks soft and keeps the focus on the jewellery and the saree.
Bangles and details
Green bangles, gold rings and mehndi on both hands add a bridal feel. In this seated photo you can see them clearly against the purple silk.
The couple
For the garland moment, Janani and Surya Teja stood together in flower garlands. He wore a pale pink outfit. Her saree in this photo looks lighter and gold-toned, different from the purple silk above.
Where to buy
No designer or label has been named for this saree. For something similar, look for a deep purple Kanchipuram silk with a gold zari border and motifs. Pothys has a range of Kanjivaram wedding silks, including purple bridal sarees. These are not confirmed as the same piece.
