Should you want to wear traditional, for an occasion or a function, sarees probably are the best choice. What’s even better? A silk saree that exudes class and elegance true to the occasion you are wearing it to.
So when, ex-Mrs India and a fashion designer herself, Shilpa Reddy wore a red Kanchipuram silk saree with a matching blouse piece to a family function, we couldn’t help but be in awe.
True to its nature, her handwoven candy red saree with a golden border had an ornated pattu pallu.
The high necked blouse piece, however, was handwoven in pure crimson red with a broad patch of pattu adorned at its elbow length sleeve. Interestingly, it also had a final patch of maroon coloured fabric covered with patterns that added to its regality.
Instead of going overboard with the jewellery, Shilpa chose a pair of antique golden jhumkas with peacock motifs. She also wore an antique golden bangle that completed her look.
With her natural curls let loose, minimal makeup and a red bindi she looked nothing less than a goddess!
