Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s wonderful weaves are bound to make just about any bollywood actress who dons them look like a diva. And when Vidya Balan, who happens to be something of a muse of his wears his designs, as she so often does, she oozes an elegant desi charm that is very characteristic to her.
Here’s a collage of our favourite of the Sabyasachi sarees that Vidya Balan was seen in on the red carpet…
1. At Cannes in Red Saree
At one of her Cannes appearances, Vidya Balan chose a red Sabyasachi Saree for herself. With a full length, high neck blouse that she teamed it up with and the multi-stranded pearl necklace, she looked as classy as a woman from the 60’s and 70’s!
2. At another Cannes appearance in Silk Saree
In yet another of her Cannes appearances, Vidya chose a gold and maroonish silk saree teamed with a maron blouse. With a knot and large earrings, she once again oozed class!
3. At Indian Film Festival in Melbourne
A bright red saree with a thin and glittery black border that Vidya Balan wore to the IFF in Melbourne was yet another one of stunningly gorgeous Sabyasachi’s sarees that she was seen in. We loved how the big, red bindi and her hair that was left loose helped add a certain old-world charm to her attire.
4. In a purple Saree at Star Guild Awards
At the Star Guild awards ceremony, we had Vidya sporting another one of Sabyasachi’s best sarees, a purple and orange, embellished saree with a glittery black blouse to go with it.
5. In a white Chanderi Saree at Cannes
A white and gold chanderi saree with a glittery black border by Sabysachi that Vidya picked for Cannes event was yet another one to love for many reasons. For one thing, we loved the multistranded necklace that she wore along with those large ear-studs.
6. At the Filmfares in a black checkered saree
Vidya chose a beautiful black checkered saree with pink pallu for the Filmfares which she teamed with a pink blouse. We loved how she oozed a lovely, old-world charm in this one.
7. At the IFF in white and red saree
In another Indian Film Festival meet in Australia, Vidya picked a white and red saree made with lace and georgette fabric. We loved the hoops that she sported for earrings.
8. In black and red at an awards event
Sabyasachi makes the best use of the colors red and black weaving out gorgeous sarees out of them. This lightly embellished saree that she donned to an event is proof of just that!
9. In black and red at Femina awards
Yet another one of those instances where Sabyasachi spinned a masterpiece out of red and black and Vidya wore it to bring out its best beauty.
10. Pink Banarasi saree
The half and half pink banarasi and net saree is one of Sabyasachi’s best sarees and Vidya Balan added her own beauty to this lovely saree.
