Ritu Kumar, the one designer who can best showcase desi-ness in all its beauty weaved magic (literally!) with her creations once again at this Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive of 2015.
Reviving Benarasi weaves into some of their most urbane and beautiful forms was the theme of her show.Starting of with white and off-white gorgeous ethnic clothes, her collection then blasted with colors into some really beautiful Benarasi sarees, lehengas and suits. Oh and yes, we loved how she got all of her models to wear a shimmery ‘topi’!
Ergo…a few of Ritu Kumar’s spectacular weaves..,
Innocently-white kurtis and palazzo pants were what she started off her show with. Palazzos were surely the rulers yet again!
What could be more beautiful than a white saree with some really thin gold work on it? Needless to say, the white and gold sarees stole the show for all the ethnic charm they oozed.
Lehengas and suits fit for bridal-wear were also made out of the white and gold.
To complement the white, a blast of colors then took over the ramp. Gorgeous glittery, shiny, Benarasi sarees in some of the brightest and the most beautiful colors were what models flaunted.
Kurtis and palazzos which were also made out of bright Benarasi fabric were showcased as a part of the collection.
Velvets and Benarasi silk always made for a regal combination, especially when it came to wedding wear….these lehengas prove that all over again.
Who but the pretty damsel Aditi Rao Hydari to walk the ramp as a showstopper! She looked amazing in a pink Benarasi Saree.
This incredibly gorgeous collection of Ritu Kumar’s makes us fall in love with Benarasi weaves all over again!
